Using creativity
to inspire
positive change
in Bequia

Safe spaces heal. They inspire, provide respite, cultivate creativity, care and joy while manifesting community spirit. The Hub Collective Inc. is the only safe community space in Bequia for youth and creatives.

Our Pillars

  • Music

Our rich traditions of sound making and oral storytelling continue through the voices and hands of our people.

  • Arts

We elevate representation. By seeing ourselves, we are able to cultivate confidence, listening and learning.

  • Culture + Heritage

Our histories, while complex, are sacred to our understanding of the present and our collective future.

  • Healing

When we heal ourselves - psyches and bodies - we begin to repair our families, communities and land.

  • Environment

The natural world has wisdom and medicine that sustain us. In this era of climate crisis we are grooming stewards.

Positive Vibes Festival

Positive Vibes Festival celebrates the best of Bequia’s culture and talent, bringing together local legends, emerging musicians and first-time performers, dancers, drummers and poets. The annual Festival, since its inception in 2016, has been supported by community businesses and is the first of its kind to coach, nurture and present raw Bequia talent.

Painting Workshop

The Hub's weekly painting workshops offer Bequia youth, adults, and those visiting the island first-hand training with our Co-Founder and Seer, Colin Peters. The sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and take you through painting basics like composition, colour and shading. Each week, participants grow their techniques and hone in on their passion and craft.

β€œMy time at The Hub Collective has moulded me into a better version of myself. My role made me aware of the spectacular local market of handcrafted items and the range of artisans that are creating. I was able to give back to my community, develop my writing, and gain a deeper appreciation for art and photography through my work. I found myself being more creative, confident in myself and communicative.”

– Jessica King, 2016 Film Program Participant and Former Shop Coordinator
