Painting Basics
The Hub's weekly painting workshops offer Bequia youth, adults, and those visiting the island first-hand training with our Co-Founder and Seer, Colin Peters.
The sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and take you through painting basics like composition, colour and shading. Each week, participants grow their techniques and hone in on their passion and craft.
Painting basics covered include:
Mixing basic colours and paint textures
Learning brush techniques (different ways of using the brush)
Painting basic shapes
Fading and blending colour
Understanding light and perspective
Correcting common errors
Sketching a still life
SCHEDULE (drop-in):
Tuesdays & Thursdays (Youth)
3:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Tuesdays (Adults)
4:30 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
COSTS
Youth: $2-5 EC / $0.75-1.85 USD
Adults: $10-20 EC / $3.70-7.40 USD
This program is offered on a sliding scale. Participants pay what they can, and no youth is ever refused access to the drop-in class if they cannot pay.
