Maritime Workshops
Pon De Reef with David Taylor pays attention to the maritime histories of Bequia and seeks to impart knowledge to youth as it relates to snorkelling, traditional fishing methods, seamanship, and water safety coupled with traditional coastal navigation methods.
In addition, youth will learn about traditional boating education, how to set fishing pots, how to spear fish and in general they will gain a better knowledge of the marine ecosystem of our island. The maritime course was offered to 15 youth between the ages of 7 -17 and was supported by Action Bequia.
